Adventures with Deserted Places! (Sermon, July 22, 2018)

Hello Friends!

I apologize again for the late posting, life has a way of delaying things sometimes.  If you want to hear the sermons on Monday, you can subscribe directly to my YouTube channel, here.

This week the disciples return from their mission to reconnect, talk, decompress, etc.  Jesus invites them to rest in a deserted place.  Of course, they get no rest because people follow them.  Why is rest important?  What is total rest versus just not working (but still being extremely busy)?  Why do we need deserted places for reflection?

Text: Mark 6:30-34, 53-56

Sermon, Proper 11, Year B, July 22, 2018

Next week, we hop into the Gospel of John for 5 weeks about the bread of life.  But, is it REALLY about bread? (hint: no, it isn’t).

Thanks for stopping by!

Rev. Lauren
